Elton Consulting has been working with the NSW Government over the past 12 months to support the planning and delivery of priority transport infrastructure projects across the state.
In 2011, the NSW Government announced the NSW Long Term Transport Master Plan, representing a strategic approach to planning for the State’s long-term transport needs over the next two decades.
The project incorporates an extensive consultation process that aims to involve the whole state in the creation of the Plan.
Elton Consulting’s team has been involved since the project’s inception and is working with Transport for NSW to deliver communications and engagement services throughout the 12 month process to prepare the Plan.
Our work has involved drafting the NSW Long Term Transport Master Plan Discussion Paper, managing 14 state-wide regional forums and a series of Advisory Groups, as well as developing a suite of communication materials and reporting on public consultation outcomes.
Another priority transport infrastructure project Elton Consulting is closely involved with is the North West Rail Link (NWRL) – one of the largest rail projects ever undertaken in NSW consisting of 23 kilometres of rail line, including 15 kilometres of tunnels.
Our staff have been working with the NWRL project team to give the public information about the project, providing community relations, engagement and communications planning services. In addition, Elton Consulting is part of the planning and urban design team for the project, providing a range of consultation and communications resources in that capacity.
Brian Elton, Managing Director, said Elton Consulting’s involvement in these priority projects cemented the company’s expertise in providing strategic infrastructure services.
“The strength of Elton Consulting is that we know how to talk to decision-makers and communities about these projects. Our people understand the range of issues and difficulties surrounding infrastructure and how important it is to take a strategic approach to design and delivery,” Brian said.
“Our staff understand complex planning processes that are crucial to successful communications for infrastructure projects. They also bring a strong commitment to broad engagement with the community that seeks to not only manage risks but also to genuinely enter into collaborative processes with the people whose lives will be affected by infrastructure projects.”
